The Jing – Hang Grand Canal connects China's Yellow River and Yangtze River through several different provinces and cities, starting from Beijing, the capital of China. The total length of this canal is 1,794 km.

Due to this, it becomes the longest canal in the world. The canal was initially constructed in the 5th century BC. Subsequently, it was further increased from 581 to 618 AD. Whereas between 1271 and 1633 it was rebuilt in a completely new way. In 2014 it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

1800 km connecting China's capital Beijing to Hangzhou city of Zhejiang province. The Long Hand Dung Grand Canal is the longest man-made canal in the world. It connects five major river valleys of China.

This canal was built to easily transport grain from the Yangtze and Huai River basins to other cities and military areas. Since then, this canal has been a convenient means of trade between north-southern and eastern China. It has an important contribution to boosting China's economy.

Different parts of the canal formed at different times. The construction of it started before the 5th century, but due to some difficulties, it could not be completed. In 735 AD, 150 million kilograms of grain were sent annually from this canal to ships.

Its construction was done under the supervision of more than 3 million people and thousands of soldiers. After the arrival of the railway facility, the use of the canal began to decrease gradually. At present, only a part of the ships from Hangzhou to Jinning is left to operate.
