Bengaluru international airport is the international airport of Bangalore which is the capital city of Karnataka state of India. The airport is situated 30 kilometres from the main business center of the city. It is rated as fourth busiest in terms of the passenger traffic and freight and cargo handling.

Besides this it has recently received the platinum certification from IATA for being the only airport in the country that uses the 100 per cent bar coded boarding passes and fully compliant with its norms and regulations.
Reaching the Airport:
Passengers have a variety of option by road to reach airport. One of the best and commercially viable solutions is to reach here through taxi or radio cabs. There are many cab services like Meru Cabs, Easy Cabs and KSTDC Cabs that can connect any part of the city to the airport. These cabs can cost you around Rs.1200 for a distance of 35 kilometres.
Another means to travel is through auto rickshaws. The passengers can be dropped at the interchange point between auto rickshaws and airport shuttle buses.
Municipal transport also operates the shuttle buses to airport by the name of Vayu Vajra. There is a fleet of 12 Volvo buses that run at certain intervals of time. This mode of transport cannot be trusted owing to the irregular nature of these buses.
Charter helicopter services are also available on request. They operate from the Electronics City, Whitefield and Mysore.
Terminals
Passenger Terminal: This is a single terminal that handles both domestic as well international flights. This is a four level building and is centrally air conditioned. The arrival and departures are separated using the simple and modern technique of straight ahead flow control. There are check in and baggage reclaim facilities on ground floor (Level 1). Many of the duty free shops and retail outlets are situated on the first floor (Level 2). The terminal has been designed to accommodate 3000 passengers during the peak hours and the design has been such that it can handle all the weathers without hampering the operations.
Hajj Terminal: This is a special terminal dedicated to the Hajj travellers. This terminal can handle up to 600 pilgrims at a time. The terminal has specially designed prayer halls for men and women.
